KPMG Luxembourg Foundation supports Syrian child refugees
Since 2009, the KPMG Foundation has been supporting social projects in Luxembourg and throughout the world, with the aim of helping to bring about sustainable change for disadvantaged children and adults.
This year, the foundation supported a project run by Kindernothilfe Luxembourg on behalf of Syrian refugee children in Lebanon. 15,000 euros will go to the project that supports the integration of child refugees between the ages of 3 and 16 into Lebanese state schools in Ghazzé, near the Syrian border.
“Education is the main focus of the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation’s efforts to make progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. In the project country, itself, KPMG Luxembourg prioritises measures to promote the integration, education and welfare of refugee families. The Foundation’s support for the Kindernothilfe project enables us to make an impact at a global level, beyond national borders. We thank you for that,” said Anne-Sophie Minaldo, Board Member of the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation and Head of Corporate Citizenship.
“Most Syrian children have no foreign language skills and require special preparation and psychosocial support before they can cope with regular school life in Lebanon. Our project helps them do this,” says Patrick Reinert, Managing Director of Kindernothilfe Luxembourg.
“We would like to thank the KPMG Foundation in Luxembourg for their valuable support,” he continued. “This gives the refugee children the opportunity to get back to normal life”.
