Emergency relief for refugees from Ukraine
This is how we help children in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries
The war of aggression perpetrated by Russian troops against Ukraine continues unabated. Harrowing pictures from the combat zones reach us every day. Countless innocent civilians are killed in the brutal attacks. Millions of children and their families have been forced to flee, leaving behind fathers, husbands and friends in the war-torn country. The countries taking in most refugees include Ukraine’s immediate neighbours. This is particularly difficult for countries such as the Republic of Moldova and Romania, which are among the poorest countries in Europe.
In and around the city of Kharkov in the Ukraine, we are working with a partner organisation to provide direct humanitarian aid to vulnerable children, between the ages of four and sixteen, some of them internally displaced. Since many of them have been traumatised by the war, the aid focuses on psychosocial support for children, but also on education and the distribution of hot lunches.
Kindernothilfe is also helping refugees in the Republic of Moldova and Romania. We are working with local partner organisations to provide refugee children and their families with food, clothing, hygiene articles and emergency shelter.

Help Ukrainian families now
The families often lack the most basic things. Any contribution you can make helps alleviate the suffering of these people.
