Strong partners

As an independent Luxembourg organisation, we work at international level with Kindernothilfe in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We are jointly committed to a set of common goals and values. This enables us to have access to a reliable, experienced network of local partner organisations in the project countries.

Co-operating with our partner organisations enables us to work more efficiently and professionally than we could if we were only a Luxembourg organisation working on its own.

Founded in Duisburg, Germany, in 1959, Kindernothilfe is now one of the largest Christian children’s aid organisations in Europe. Altogether, Kindernothilfe supports 945 projects in 29 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. It reaches around 1,501,634 children and young people throughout the world.

Of these, 219,553 children and young people receive direct individual support in 714 projects. We reach 1,282,081 children and young people through community projects and self-help groups in 231 projects.

In a globalised world, it is important to create synergies, especially with respect to cost-sensitive areas. As a member of the Kindernothilfe Alliance, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg can take advantage of partner networks and quality criteria for professional project implementation and evaluation in collaboration with local partner organisations and ensure high-quality communication from the projects. This enables us to provide detailed information to our donors regarding the progress and use of funds.

This applies, above all, to emergency relief operations in response to disasters in our partner countries – well-rehearsed procedures and reliable partners are especially important for the delivery of quick and efficient support. At the same time, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg is able to contribute its own know-how and experience to the alliance, quickly and in a targeted manner, for future projects.

Beyond Germany, there are further partners in Austria (since 1996) and Switzerland (since 2005).
