Who we are

Kindernothilfe Luxembourg asbl was founded in June 2009. We protect, support and empower children living in the poorest regions of the world. We do this through sustainable development projects and disaster relief in our partner countries.

A key aspect of providing effective support is first-hand knowledge of the local context and culture of the people in need of support. That is why we implement all projects in co-operation with local partner organisations and ensure that the support is effective in the long term. Our fundamental principles are compliance with children’s rights and helping people to help themselves

In its first two years, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg was built up entirely through the dedicated work of volunteers. We moved into our first office in 2011. Since 2015, Kindernothilfe Luxembourg has had its headquarters in Eecherschmelz in Luxembourg-Eich.

In May 2013, the Luxembourg Ministry for Co-operation awarded Kindernothilfe Luxembourg asbl received official recognition as a non-governmental organisation (ONG). Since March 2013, we have been a member of the Cercle de Coopération of the ONG de développement in Luxembourg.

Donations to Kindernothilfe Luxembourg are tax deductible within the scope of the provisions of the Luxembourg tax law (Articles 109 and 112 L.I.R.). Our Annual Financial Statements are audited by an independent auditor (currently BDO Luxembourg) and filed annually with the commercial register.
